Who we are

The Property Funds Association of Australia (PFA) is the peak body representing the Australian unlisted property funds sector.

The property funds sector needs an industry association to promote the industry, build networks, educate and advocate – PFA aims to achieve this while providing the unlisted property funds industry with a voice.

Unlisted commercial real estate investment plays a big role in the Australian economy, is highly influential over the places we live, work, and play, and fosters innovation and sustainability in property. Over the medium to long-term, unlisted property funds are proven as a positive contributor to retail and institutional investment portfolios.

PFA is committed to the improvement of relevant industry legislation and governance to facilitate industry growth and best-practice outcomes. To achieve these aims, we provide industry leading sector research and education to our members, and represent their interests to the Australian Securities and Investment Commission (ASIC), Treasury and other government and regulatory bodies.

PFA members enjoy many benefits, including industry connections, networking, education, and advocacy – more information on PFA membership is available here.

PFA Mission

PFA is to deliver outstanding service to members by focusing on 3 key activities:

Connections and relationships: Developing a unified and powerful professional industry association with strong membership benefits.

Resources: Providing opportunities and promoting investment in property-based managed investments in Australia by domestic and international investors.

Advocacy: Representing the interest of our members to government regulators to improve the commercial operating environment.

PFA History

Established in 1998, the Property Funds Association of Australia (previously known as the Australian Direct Property Investment Association or ADPIA) was created to support the increasing number of direct property investors and managers.

The association has since broadened its reach to also represent advisors, consultants, and other representatives within the property investment and management sectors.

PFA serves as a representative body, provides a voice for unlisted property funds, advocates for industry, promotes growth in the sector and offers a platform for research and education.
